Addendum

Okay, so that shitty week? Yeah, it didnt' get better.

Surprisingly, work was not responsible. I guess I should be thankful for that, but still.

I slept too long after work on Saturday, then went to Bartz's to find a cape. They didn't have any more velvet ones, so I got a nylon one. I REALLY wanted velvet, but I can't be picky at the last second. Then, I went out to Burlington to get Andrea and Ralph. We came back to Whitewater for Andrea to prepare her costume, then headed to Madison.

We didn't get there until 10, and I had hoped to be there at 7:30. This wasn't a big deal, but I was freezing my ass off so I removed the costume and donned the leather jacket. Apparently this made it so that I was dressed exactly the same as Ralph... We tried to pull of the "hitmen" angle for about 10 mintues.

Jason had been insistent that we come up there and meet him on Halloween. He didn't even go there himself, he stayed in Milwaukee after demanding our presence in Madison. Go Figure. Whitey was out, too... He said he wanted to hang out, but got wasted before we even got there. So, that ruled out two things we were supposed to do.

We hit State Street and blindly walked up and down in for what had to be about 2 hours. Ralph and Andrea got really mad they didn't get drunk, and it really bothered me that our group never even looked back to make sure we were following them even once. The highlights of Ralph's night including buying a pack of unfiltered cigarettes, and finding an unopen beer on the ground.

We left, with Ralph having a third consecutive bad Halloween in Madison. Go to his blog for furthur ranting.

Today I checked a voice mail that I realized I had some time around 12:30 last night. I figured it would've been Kelli because I missed a call from her, but it was actually from AJ. My phone didn't even show a missed call from her. Anyway, we wouldn't have been able to see her even if the oppurtunity HAD come up because she got sick.

Today Andrea and I have been watching ghost stories on the History Channel and cleaning her apartment. We're gonna go walk campus now, then watch the AquaTeen marathon tonight. Maybe we can salvage that much of the holiday. Still, thank God last week is finally OVER!

Now I can focus on this week: Voting and Spring Term Registration. More on these as event develop...

Week from HELL

Well, now that I'm officially back, I can start making regular posts again.

First off, I want to address a few things. Number one, to Andrea, I did say that October 28th used to be remembered as the best night ever. I will hereby officially replace that with November 20th (the night of the DDR tournament). Number two, to Ralph, yes I intend to get things up on the Views page soon. I was struggling to meet the relaunch deadline I had set and didn't have time to put up more content. I will as things settle down.

Which leads me into my explanation of the post's title. This week has been AWFUL. First Ralph's car overheated Sunday after taking Andrea home from the paint-a-thon. But that didn't really effect me other than I was gonna have to take him to pick it up later in the week. What affected me Sunday was the news of Jon and Laura's engagement.

My mind was reeling on Monday morning, but I ran into my old networking professor and talked to him for a while. I kinda figured it was gonna be a good day. It wasn't. And that's not just because of Dr. Puppet's guest lecture in Physics.

Ed called me around 2 PM, while I was on the phone with Paul. I called him back about 3:30 to learn that his brother had been killed. Read up on the Arby's shootings if you don't know what I'm talking about. The irony is that Alan had only transfered out of Muskego about a month ago.

Anyway, I'm walking around thinking about this, and also thinking about Jon and Laura being engaged. Finally Andrea comes back from class and we sit down in my car. I go to turn the key, but it won't turn. Tried everything, jiggling the wheel, the shifter, turning the key upside-down, nothing. Mark came up and tried too, but to no avail. We ended up having the car towed to the dealership, which luckily has late hours on Mondays. So I was left overnight in Whitewater with no overnight bag, but at least I was where I needed to be.

Then I looked down and realized I'd been planning to charge my phone when I got home at night. I was able to leave it on long enough to get a voicemail from Troy, then it died. So Tuesday I was left with no car and no phone, plus I thought I was gonna get a take home test that required a book I'd left at home. Mom and Mark brought the book and an overnight bag and my phone charger Tuesday night so I could at least have that much. Dwayne and I worked on a project all night.

Wednesday, Ralph ironically ended up taking me to get my car instead of me taking him to get his. Wednesday was okay, but I got home and couldn't reach dad because he'd apparently been in Pennsylvania. Then I got into a phonefight with Andrea as I watched the lunar eclipse.

Thursday I went to Alan's funeral. It was quite sad, and I could tell Ed was having a hard time with it. I've had friends die, but I've never had one get murdered. And I didn't even know Alan that well... I can only imagine what Ed was going through. I went home afterward, telling Ed to call me if he needed anything... At least I got a hold of dad last night, though.

I had plans with Zach tonight but he attending the funeral of the girl from Arby's. I don't know what's going on this weekend yet, because planning it caused ANOTHER fight with Andrea.

I will be so freakin' glad when this week is over.

Welcome Back

...I have returned.

Yes, after my three month absence from the Internet, I have redesigned my blog. Now I know it's not exactly the greatest design in the world (fear the upside down L!), but I like it a LOT better than I did before. Plus, now I actually have storage space and the freedom to have an entire site instead of just one page. True, I'm using crappy Geocities, and this means ads, but I didn't want to stick this on student storage since I know I will lose that in a year and a half anyway. Plus Tripod made me want to vomit with the places they put their ads, and Angelfire told me I couldn't have jrwisno1.

Feel free to leave comments. Hopefully nobody hates it TOO much.

You might be wondering why I chose today, October 28, as the relaunch date. Or maybe you're not. But I'm gonna tell you anyway. It's because today is the one year anniversary of the initial launch of my blog. I started on that day last year because at the time the date held the significance of being the anniversary of the greatest night of my life. I don't think I'd consider that to be true so much anymore, but it's still a good memory.

Anyway, this time I put about a month and a half of preparation into the site, rather than just a couple days. It may not look like it, but you must realize that the entire project was done on-campus while Andrea was in class and I was not. There was also a big fight I had with gradients in Photoshop, and I lost. Hope everything else paid off.

I tried to add a lot more content this time around, so when I don't post for a while, there's other stuff to look at... My personal favorite is the idea of the Views Page. I also hope to be uploading more soon. But please, folks, don't hassle me about not posting. I said right off the bat last time that I would only post periodically, and I would just like to point it out again. With a Physics Major and a double Minor, plus my girlfriend and work, I'm a very busy man... I also don't like the fights that stating my own personal opinion causes. But I did miss all of you, so I've come back to my blog (NOT livejournal).

And this time, I'm here to stay.
